Follow up on Green-Y compressed air storage technology
In our post of 12 December 2022, we reported on the first pilot project for Green-Y compressed air storage technology at a Swiss industrial site.
Today we can provide a follow-up. Another milestone has now been reached:
In collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, the air compressor and expander have been combined into a bidirectional unit as part of an Innosuisse innovation project. This halves the costs and space required for storing solar and wind energy and releasing it into the power grid. Our compressed air energy storage system has thus taken a decisive step towards market readiness for use in building technology.
